Fire, in its most basic sense, is often though of as the crackling, cozy archetype.  I wanted to show it in a more powerful way, as fire can be so destructive.  I thought of a volcano, of lava.  I thought of heated metal, melting and shifting.  This inspired me to push the sharpened shapes to soften and harden simultaneously, and to melt the colors together.
