INVERSE ART
Houston-based Inverse Art is a husband and wife team - Jorge and Daniela Cauich. Their artistic styles have always been inverse, or opposite, but they have found this to be an advantage. They help and inspire each other with each piece, often collaborating to create something even better than the original concept. Music, nature, and the intricacies of the human mind remain their chief teachers. They also have two children who love to paint and draw, just like mom and dad! Everything here is hand painted, hand drawn, woodburned, BY US. We are not reselling someone else’s work, or that of a machine. Each line or brush stroke is placed there, thoughtfully, by us. For you!
Thank you for visiting Inverse Art.
ABOUT JORGE
Jorge grew up in Belize, surrounded by artists. It was hard not to be immersed in his family’s projects. From a young age, he was helping to make stencils, shirts, create designs, and watch his uncles paint. As he grew up and attended school in the U.S., he learned from his teachers and expanded his knowledge. He quickly realized his style did not mirror that of his family, but this didn’t deter him from further experimentation. He worked with collages, sketching, ink pen drawing and shading, portraiture, graffiti, and street photography.
Now, he is working on sharpening his natural gifts and focusing in on what his style actually is. The artist’s journey is never complete, and it never should be.
ABOUT DANIELA
Daniela’s journey to Inverse Art is a little more confusing. As a child she loved anything artistic- music, art, dance, free expression in any way. This was reflected in her youth as she was a part of two local bands. As those disintegrated, she found herself lost on the path to her purpose. Building a life and a family distracted her even further from her true self, until the covid pandemic. She had a newborn son to care for and a lot of time to think while changing several diapers a day. It occurred to her that she was tired of watching her husband create beautiful things, that she needed to be part of it too. Slowly but surely, she taught herself to paint and sketch, and considers herself to still be learning. Singing and writing are her preferred methods of artistry, but Inverse Art allows her to also flex her muscles to drive the business and create tangible beauty for others-and seeing others happy makes her happy too.
